Removing Duplicate POI FILES

Hi.. I hope I picked the correct forum.. If not please put in correct forum.. I checked/searched could not find the answer.
I added POI files to my GARMIN 465T and when checking my garmin I see 2 files with the same name.. How do I delete those POI files from my Garmin ?

you have two GPI files
If you are talking about two copies of custom poi, you have two GPI files. If you are talking about duplicates in your Favorites, you have two GPX files. Both have different names, Favorites are stored in Current.GPX which is a COPY of the data stored in a protected area of the units operating system space. Look for another file like temp.GPX and delete this. You will have to edit the stored favorites using the built-in tool as deleting Current has no effect.
If it's two GPI files, one probably had its file name changed. POI Loader writes a GPI file using the folder name where the files are found or as directed by specifying a file name when run.

Thanks for responding...Its 2 GPI FILES in my Custom POI's ... for example PASSPORT..
How do I delete them... I did go back to my directory to be sure I did not have dupe files or even close..

When you attach your Nuvi to your computer, it will show up in Windows Explorer as a drive (two if you have a SD card). You can just navigate to the drive that should have "Nuvi" in its description and delete one of the files.
You indicated that you thought that one of the ,gpi files had its name changed. Just so that we will know, how did there come to be two .gpi files containing the same information? I am asking because you do not want to have the problem crop up again. Now would be the time to think through the process.

Hi...What I find on my PC in my Campground directory are files with different names, no dupes..
On my GARMIN...I do not see where I can delete POI's in my CUSTOM poi on my Garmin ?
Obviously I have created a mess on my garmin...

Hi..thanks for directing me... When I was using POI loader... It had the option of removing the OLD POI's in my custom POI icon... I chose that option and then executed POI Loader again and uploaded my new custom POI's..
BTW... I went thru the POI files I had downloaded and used the feature in 2007 excel to remove dupes.... All files came back clean.. Kudos to you guys who create them..
