3490LMT Bug With Basecamp

Well, in writing up a summary for Garmin about Safe Texting, InstaSearch, etc., I have come across a pretty big issue regarding the 3490 with Basecamp. I had deleted my Waypoints (Saved Favorites), Trip Logs, and Active Routes on the 3490. They no longer appeared on the unit. However, when connecting with Basecamp, everything that was deleted or cleared on the unit still showed up via Basecamp when clicking Internal Storage so that tells me these things were not really deleted from the unit, only masked out. I did a Clear All User Data from the Diagnostics Page and all the Saved Favorites as well as active routes and past trip history still remained via Basecamp-Internal Storage. There seems to be no way to delete them via Basecamp either. I was afraid to go into the .System folder and delete things manually in an effort to avoiding bricking the unit. This has happened with both firmware versions 3.6 and 4.4. I have sent this information into the Product Specialist at Garmin (I met him at CES).

I left a similar post on Garmin's forum and this was the only response I got which I'm yet to try.

Found Issue
After further investigation from the post above at the Garmin forums, it turns out that Basecamp still sees the old deleted waypoints and tracks due to the Current.gpx, Position.gpx, and Temp.gpx files under the GPX folder. If you delete these and resend your waypoints from My Collection to the unit, then it clears up all the old stuff with one exception. The unit defaults back to the Chicago area when you delete the Position.gpx file. When you reacquire a sat signal, it creates a new Position.gpx file and then Basecamp sees that acquired location as a waypoint and gives it a name as 001. The Nuvi doesn't display this but Basecamp does. I sent notes off to Garmin about it as I'm waiting to see if they can also add a clear button in the UI for InstaSearches.
