Summer Trip

We are planning our summer trip and will be heading down to San Diego in June. Then up to Lake Tahoe and back up through Idaho before heading back home.

I have downloaded a couple of San Diego POIs. But does anyone have any tips and attractions for the trip up to Lake Tahoe? We plan to avoid Los Angeles all together and travel up on 395.

Any comments would be appreciated!

I can tell you this much

Even 40 years ago traveling 395 north from San Diego was no picnic - and that's before the sprawl created all the little towns along the corridor (can't call it a route anymore).

Good food

There is a "looks-like-nothing-special" cafe in one of the small towns on 395 up near Mono Lake that has a well-deserved reputation for great food. Unfortunately, I am having a Senior Moment right now, and cannot remember the name of the cafe, or even the name of the town.

If I can dredge that info out of my memory, I'll post it here when I do.

With best wishes,

Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives

Since this discussion has taken a food related turn, the Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives POI file might be something to consider for your Summer trip.
