Map updates for Pioneer DNX9980HD

Wondering if anyone knew how to obtain current map updates for a newly purchased in dash unit Pioneer Exelon DNX9980Hd it shows that the map loaded on the unit is from 2010.
I have a lifetime map purchased for my previous Nuvi 885T
but I am pretty sure they will not allow me to use that on the new model.

The DNX9980HD is a Kenwood not a Pioneer.
Go to this link on Garmin's site:

It will show you if there are any new map and software updates available for your model.
I found that the map updates for the Kenwood/Garmin unit I had came about once a year and software can come at any time just like for the nuvi's.
