Does anyone know how to remove MSN Direct Service files from a Garmin 255 w ? Such a shame that the service is gone.

Don't Think It's Possible

I don't believe you can, I think it's embedded in the firmware. I very much doubt Garmin will update firmware with it's removal on a nuvi 255W.

MSN

Is the Nuvi 255W a discontinued model? If it is I don't think you will receive any updates for it.

You don't need to remove

You don't need to remove anything. Just don't use the cable with the MSN Direct service and they will be gone.

The MSN icon will remain on the unit, I believe that is what traveling_lost is tryig to remove.

I don't see MSN the icon

I don't see the MSN icon anymore after I replaced the MSN Direct power cable with the GTM-20 power cable with lifetime traffic.
