Don't know enough to even have an opinion. But it would be fascinating if it is a Mayan consruct.

I myself
trying to keep an open mind and finding interesting internet searches, I have my doubts. Only because the Native Creek and Cherokee Indians in the region were tall, and Mayans short people.
I do believe the Mayans were capable of migration for survival though, and differently academically advanced to chart stars for travel.
Like I said trying to keep an open mind.
