Veterans Day Nov 11, 2011

Now is the time to pause and reflect upon how our military veterans have served and sacrificed in order to preserve our freedom and attain freedom for those in many other parts of the world. And don’t forget the sacrifices of their families! Thank you, veterans and families!

Lord have mercy on all our veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, Bring peace to their hearts and minds, peace to Family members of the deceased soldiers. May there also be peace in the regions they fought in. Bless all the soldiers who served in non-combative posts; May their calling to service continue in their lives in many positive ways.
Amen

Rememebrance Day in Canada

As a proud Canadian, I feel both Americans and Canadians should show our support and pride for our armed forces.

Canada lost close to 160 brave soldiers in Afghanistan, with the last on being only a little over a week ago.

Fortunately, in Canada, and I'm sure in the US, the younger generation is beginning to understand more of the importance of our armed forces and their sacrifices. Perhaps, the war in Afghanistan has had an unexpected positive effect, because the young have seen the sacrifice and now perhaps appreciate the sacrifices of those in the two World Wars, Korea and Vietnam.

It is well known that Canada lost a huige number of soldiers, in the two world wars, but Canadians also fought and died in Vietnam and Korea.

Our thoughts and prayers go to all of these brave people.

p.s. I see ads for stores having sales today, because people are off work and out of school. Please don't let this turn into one more pre Christmas shopping day. Avoid the malls.

Cold War.

Let us not forget the Vets who served during the Cold War, especially during the Cuban Crisis. Most do not realize how tense it was during that Crisis; and how close to 'All-out Nuclear War" we were .... just a phone-call away. If you're interested, watch "13 Days".

Thanks to all Vets; you're the reason we're allowed to post here! The bad part .... we can't thank the ones who gave the "Ultimate"!

Not just today.

yeah, yeah, yeah, everybody tips their hats off for veterans today.

How about rest the year? Are we really treating veterans the way their deserved? Considering what they had put out for all of us. Regardless we agreed with their actions or not, they were just following orders from the civilian leadership we elected.
