A trip down memory lane

I've been a member for 12 years, 34 weeks, and the hot topic of the day was how we all had to be sure to make sure that our windshield-mounted GPS didn't leave a telltale ring on the windshield that would alert a bad guy that there was a GPS unit inside the car. Sounds so innocent now.

13 Years 9 Weeks

Found this site after I bought a Nuvi 670. I now have a Nuvi 3790 LMT and my 2018 Honda CR-V AWD Touring has Garmin Navigation which I just updated yesterday. My last post was yesterday about the map update available for the CR-V. I don't seem to look in as often as I used to. I'll try to do better.

I noticed this when I looked at my account today (1/1/2021). I knew I joined early in January in 2009, but didn't remember that it was on New Year's day.

Award for longest running active topic??

This one was started in 2011 and now is up to 30 pages, and is still getting new posts today! Its kind of funny to look at the posts on the first page proudly announcing 3 or 4 years, and see in their user ID block at the top that they now have been members for 12 and 13 years... amazing longevity and dedication here, which really speaks to the sites's usefulness. It has been meeting a need and has gathered an appreciative community which has stood the test of time in this tech age where obsolescence is often measured in mere months!

I find in my profile that I just hit the 12 year mark - I didn't remember that I became a member on New Year's Day 2009.

Happy New Year 2021

Small world...

I noticed in your signature line Phil that you're in Mentor and have a 1450. Before moving to PA, Cleveland is my hometown--and I had a 1450 at one time as well.

Most of my family is still in Northeast Ohio, so my Garmin is essential for the roadtrips home.

My wife and I live near the confluence of OH-2 and OH-615 . We've lived in the same house almost 48 years and our hobby is supporting every winery in Lake and Ashtabula counties. My 1450 died a couple of years ago and now I have a Drive Smart(?) 61. If you want to know what my opinion of the better wineries is, contact me off line.
