nuvi 295 camera (freezes / locks up)

Anyone run into a similar problem? When I touch the camera icon or hit the camera button on my 295W the screen locks up. Everything else works fine. I can power down and all is normal again until I try the camera. So far I tried the camera diagnostics (locks up) and a master reset. Have removed the battery several times. Contacted Garmin via email and expect a response next week. Anybody here have any ideas? Don't want to send it in as I paid for the LM updates and would probably loose that. Thanks, Jon

I've not seen that issue but admit that I rarely use my 295W. You've tried everything I could suggest at this point.

Just one thing--if you do need to send it in to Garmin, you'll likely get a different unit shipped backed to you. So make a backup of your Favorites to your computer so you can restore them to the replacement. Even if you get a different unit back, Garmin should have transferred your LM to the replacement. If overlooked, a call to Customer Service should restore it.

No problems here.

Jon: Just something to try. Power down & remove the SD card... I use the camera feature to email at least one pic back home on each trip.

We have two 295w's and use the cameras quite often and never had any problem.

No Problem With The LTM

My friend recently returned a Garmin 265W that came with Lifetime Maps. It was under warranty but was not covered since it was left in the car and the car got flooded(totaled) due to Hurricane Irene.
He had to pay 80.00 for a replacement that arrived looking like brand new.

He did request they transfer the lifetime maps and they agreed to do it.When he received it it didn't have the most recent map, so he used Webupdater and he got the current one using the lifetime maps.
They did stand behind their promise.

Garmin responded to my

Garmin responded to my e-mail and after trying a few things I had already done, they decided to replace my unit. Received the new one (remanufactured) on Tuesday this week. LM was transferred over and all works well again. The unit looks like new. I'm happy and Thanks Garmin!!
