ONSTAR FMV

For non GM cars. After buying it for around $80,
You get to pay $18.99 a month for basic, or $28.99 a month for the works.

I think I'll keep my Garmin and buy some flares in case of accident. Or join AAA.

Onstar

If onstar is going to do what the news is reporting I don't want it anyway. (they are going to start selling information on you the end of Oct or Dec.)

OnStar Policy Changes

OnStar has announced some policy changes that might cause some concerns. They will CONTINUE to collect location information from your car even AFTER you discontinue the service. Apparently you can block this transfer of information - if you go through a few hoops.

iphone app?

The only part of OnStar that seems special to me is the way it can call for help automatically if you have a wreck. Usually you would be able to just do this yourself but there is a possibility of a bad enough wreck you could not. But it seems like a "fancy phone" like a iphone could measure the G-force and do this too. Anybody know of applications like that for iphones?

I can see it now....

You drop your Iphone and it calls for help. smile
