Yes
Anybody got TourGuide to work with Geocaching POI files?
I have not actively setting them up, but I did play with some I had already created. I have a list in csv and gpx format. I added "TourGuide" to the file name, ran it through poi loader and gave it a range of 5280 feet. It works on my nuvi.
Nuvi 2460LMT.
.csv or .gpx?
Did you use .csv or .gpx? Does it matter?

I have a couple different files
Some are csv and some are gpx. It does not matter. The gpx file has more info in it. But they both work. They were set up for a couple trips I took.

Thanks...
Got 'er fixed! Finally figured out that I needed a .wav instead of a .mp3!

Glad you got it fixed.
You should have told us what the problem was instead of a blanket "has anyone got TourGuide and geocaching to work"?
I responded to your question and nothing else.

No problem...
Not a problem. I tend to suspect all the wrong things. If you look back at my posts from last June, I suspected that my Dezl 560 didn't HAVE TourGuide! LOL!

Now go do some of the geocaching.

Paperless Geocaching
You might want to check out paperless geocaching with your nuvi: http://goo.gl/efgwa
The system supports alerts for nearby caches, and you may customize the alert distance.

Great link
I use my 1350 to do paperless geocaching but I have to do the legwork. I am going to try this method!
Thanks WAASup!

If you want just location and name
You can download as a "loc" under the basic membership. Yes, the details make it nice (I admit that). The loc file can be opened in EPE and saved as a csv. You can also copy and paste the details in to EPE and save as a gpx file. I do that only because I am not a real active geocacher.

You're welcome Phlatlander! It was useful having the cache description, hints and recent logs out in the field.
Worked well on my Nuvi 760, didn't try on our new 1490 since the offroad accuracy was far less than the 760.
EDIT: A premium geocaching.com account is required to get this data. As Pwohlrab pointed out, you can get the basic cache info from the LOC files if you're not a premium member.

I do paperless caching with my Blackberry, using the Geocache Navigator application. What I have done with my GPS is to simply alert me that I should check my Blackberry! LOL!

What is the geocache navigator app??

I have Blackstar application (free) but is somewhat difficult to use.

Geocache Navigator is another BB app from Trimble (there are also versions for other phones)

1350 can do paperless geocaching
For WAASup
Took me awhile to get things going but I did manage to download a TourGuide.gpi file to my 1350 and the data looks to be the same as displayed on your included link.
As I have already geocached with my Nuvi this method gets the data I usually want to see without any editing on my part. Think I'll play some more as I did not manage to download "recent logs out in the field".
Thanks for link WAASup it made up for my (not) watching the Roughriders ride roughshod over our Bombers (Canadian humour...)

Geocaching and TourGuide
Would Geocaching help me look where my wife hides her egg money.

My son and I were at Skydome watching the Jays. Frank Francisco got a 9th inning birthday present with their 6-5 win over the Orioles.
Don't be "Blue" over the Bombers loss, eh? There's always next time...

geocache logs
Took some digging and most of an afternoon but I did manage to find a macro that allows some geocache logs to be stored/displayed on my 1350 - great! A good reason not to get an iPod touch as it can run the latest geocache program.
Thanks again WAASup.
If anyone is interested in this macro drop me an email.

Wow!
I won't do THAT again! I loaded Geocaches, in a TourGuide file, with an alert radius of three miles. When I got to Albuquerque, there were so many that the GPS could hardly function! I drove something like ten miles and all along the map stayed the same, while the TourGuide baloon was scrolling various caches faster than any movie marquis ever did!

TourGuide overload
I have run into this problem as well with TourGuides. If the density of POI's is too great within the radius you have set, it can cause your nuvi to grind to a halt or spontaneously shut down/reboot. It has happened with both my 855 and 755T. I changed from TourGuide to normal proximity alert with a shorter distance. That reduced the density and resolved the problem.
