This just in - Garmin is releasing the "StreetPilot onDemand" app for the iPhone, which they claim will turn your device into a full fledged PND.

Looks like another up and coming contender...

Not a compensated endorser - just a potential customer.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

Looks like "app as a service" model

They've take the price of the app down to $0.99

And you subscribe to the service to "go premium" for $2.99 a month or $29.99 (on sale for launch for only $19.99...)

Another incentive... you can use it on multiple devices for no additional cost... it's tied to the devices on the iTunes account used to buy the app... looks like it is Wifi iPad compatible (provided you have a BadElf, or bluetooth GPS puck for it...)

WIll be looking into this more.

Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT, Nuvi 750, Nuvi 255LT

on demand requires data connection

It downloads map while navigating. Could matter to some people.

I am planning to purchase it

Does anyone know accurate the map is? I read some comments in Garmin and some said it bad.

For me map is very good
