Hook it up to Web Updater - and let it do it's thing for updates - if it's anything like mine, you'll get offered the chance to download any of the voice & support files for any language not on your 765T that are stock to the device - select what you want, and have the Updater continue to install.

After you install webupdater run the program with your GPS connected to your computer and let it update your GPS firmware if you want and then you can update other things like chipsets, voices, etc.

I did that. Although I deleted all TEXT files that are not English, Webupdater only offers "Traffic Text, All languages, GTT" and "Traffic Text, All languages". No mention of American English anywhere.

I guess I'll update those two choices and see what comes of it.

I don't think there is an American English TEXT file. There is an American English VOICE file. I've read that the American TEXT is written to the internal memory of the Nuvi and can't be deleted. Actually, my 760 only has British Text files in the Text folder but both US and British Text show as selectable under Tools - Settings - Language -Text so it looks like that is the way it works.

Even if there is an American English text file it would be the same as the British one you still have, except for a few words that get spelled differently, like colour instead of color.

I believe you're right. I downloaded those 2 choices that I mentioned earlier and all it did was put all the non-English Text files on the Nuvi again.
