Nuvi 1350LTM (barely has room for files)

Anybody else buy a nuvi 1350LMT and find that it barely has any room to put more files to its memory?

Yes

Yes most of the 1xxx models are the same.

Best advice is to take a full backup of the contents of your Nuvi and then delete all the voice, vehicle, picture, text, help, and EULA files for languages other than the one you use (all except English for example). That will free up a lot of space.

micro SDHC Card

You should buy a micro SDHC Card - 4GB or 8GB

and put new maps on this card.

I don't know about JVC or other features, but at least the new MAP can go on the Card.

1350LMT memory

I have 1 1/2yr old 1350LMT. Currently I download/store 5mb of jpgs and 10.8mb of gpx/csv/wav/bmp files and my PC say the Garmin has 1.58gb used and 1.76mb free.
I only have 15 voices/languages installed but I didn't delete other files. I have a 2gb microSD card but so far I only store additional jpgs on it.
I like the 1350LMT, especially after finally figuring out how to run TourGuides. It is certainly miles ahead of my '11 Ford Edge navigation package.

Micro SD Card

I accidentally ran my 1350 out of all space, put all the languages on it. When I deleted them all I had about 400 megs. Put a 4 gig card in it and put the new maps on it knowing that being on this site the space is going fast. I found out the hard way when it's completely full you can't update the software, it won't recognize your unit.

SD CARD

I agree, go buy a cheap sd card that will fit in your unit. 4gb or 8gb and that way you don't have to worry about it. Cards are super cheap nowadays.

I had this issue with my 1690 and I ended up puting the US and CA maps on the unit and using mapsource to install the rest on the SD card.

Did you use the search engine to try and find the information yourself before asking?

You're going to run MapInstall twice. The first time you run MapInstall you put one portion of the full map on internal memory. The second time you run MapInstall, you install the remainder of the map on the MicroSD card. See here for some quick information: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/31185

Nüvis can accept any card up to 16GB in size.
