Nuvi 13xx And 14xx Series (GCD File) Firmware Version 5.40

Discovered this on another forum, and verified by running Webupdater with my 1490. It was reported that the problem with favorite icons displaying incorrectly as black dots (introduced with V5.10) is NOT fixed.

Fixed an error that sometimes caused the loss of audio and Bluetooth after a software update.
Improved software stability.
Changes from version 5.20 to version 5.30:
Fixed an error that caused some third-party maps to draw incorrectly.
Changes from version 5.10 to version 5.20:
Made several map-drawing improvements.
Fixed several FMI-related issues.
Fixed an error that caused the wrong keyboard to display for certain regions.
Fixed an error that caused audio and Bluetooth features to not function unless the unit was restarted.
Fixed an error that caused the device to prompt users to turn the wrong direction on certain routes.
Fixed an error that caused routes to calculate slowly.

Thanks for the info. I updated my 1350 & found that it appeared snappier than what I was used to. It locked on to the sats quicker & seemed quicker in determining routes.

Anyone else observe that?

No, the black dot problem is not fixed>>>

frankly, me and Garmin are through...never again buying one of their POS units and faulty software updating...you go to all the trouble to make custom icons and they find a way to screw it up...tata Garmin!

Enjoy the other manufacturers

Personally, have owned 4 different Garmins starting with the C330.
Never had significant problems with any of them except for sun glare problems with the c330 (which I still own and lend to visiting friends to use )
All the Custom POIs I use seem to work well.Notify and display.
Occasionally I have messed up but have corrected problems with help of POI members.
Had problems once with POI Loader but Garmin corrected that.

Everyone has problems

Everyone has problems sometime. Nothing is perfect all the time. I have been fortunate not to have had problems
