Petroglyphs
The Hickison Petroglyphs east of Eureka are supposed to be interesting. Sorry I don't have coordinates but here is a link:

Don't know about POIs, but seems that I recall seeing a fenced in marker years ago when I traveled it. It's just one long series of climbing a mountain, descending to a valley, climbing a mountain........
not another car in sight. You might see the occasional Pronghorn beside the road.

Nevada hwy 50
If memory servies me correct that is suppose to be the loneliest hwy in Nev. Drove it twice and it holds true to it's name.
