GPS Games

Several Months ago I stumbled onto a forum that had GPS Games. I don't think it was this one but it sounded fun. What they were doing was entering Coords into the gps to find an item hidden in plain sight. I didn't book the site but I wish I had.
I have had 4 Garmins, the current one is a 1390t with the connector for the car computer.
Thanks .

http://www.geocaching.com/ is one of the main sites that does something similar to what you mentioned except mostly the items are not "hidden in plain sight".

Here is a list of types of geocaches they have and the types they used to have:

Note the links to other kinds of "seek what is at coordinate" type sites under "Grandfathered Cache Types".

geocaching

You will find that almost all automotive GPSr's are not suitable for geocaching. You will want a hand held unit to find geocaches successfully. Some have had limited luck though.

I tried a geocache location near me this weekend. I looked like a freakin' idiot walking in circles staring at my Nuvi. Never did find the thing.
Plus or minus 30 feet isn't too good when looking for a film case item in a park.

Reading glasses...

are a good thing for small objects. Just a thought. mrgreen

Microscopes are better than reading glasses, but imagine the HORRORscope when you do not find what you are looking for!!!!

Yea, but...

It's a film case, not a gnat! If you need a microscope, you're legally blind.
