37xx custom poi icon size?

anyone know the correct custom poi icon format and size for 37xx series? the same icons used to work for my 13xx series, but not anymore on 37xx. then read else where that the icon needs to be 8bit bmp (256colors), it shows up now BUT it has to zoom-in all the way down to see a tiny square that dont look like a 22x22 pixel size.. so i tested with 100x100 pixel but the square only displays 22 pixel out of a 100... im thinking it might need an icon with different picture format & size...

I think

I think what you have is all you can get.

I think 8 bit color is the tops in resolution but I believe 24x24 size is the tops in size for 472x272 Garmin screens.

I just resized the icon with

I just resized the icon with paint to 24x24 and that seems to work, I notice with the latest software update they look a little larger, before I could hardley see them, also I need to be zoomed in to see them, with auto zoom turned on driving at 80km I can't see them, at 50km I can because it zooms in.

Zoom

Zooming in is usually the only way to see Custom POI icons unless you are navigating to them and they come on screen.

I made the same goof a few months ago when I was collecting a pile of bmp's for my POIs and didn't notice their resolution was too high. The members here put me right back on track.

Symbol size

Yes, it is 24x24 on the 37xx. Anything bigger will be cropped to 24x24. 256-color (8-bit) bitmaps works well.

You CAN Zoom Out

Usually -- is a keyword .... But

Did you know that you can Zoom to a level of 200 miles and more and still see a Custom POI on the screen?

Yes, you can

I cover this interesting phenomenon in my article

** SALINA, ZOOM OUT FAR AND STILL SEE A CUSTOM POI
- You May Be Able To Zoom Out More (or Less) Than You Think

Which is on Custom POIs Page 8 of my website [plus I've talked about it before in earlier articles in the Custom POI area.]
