I have a Nuvi1390LMT. This unit, according to its manual, takes JPEG files, not BMP. I ceated a JPEG file feom the bitmap icon I downloaded fromm here. When I install it, I did not sê the pix on the map. How do you install it then?

True, but .bmp files are not "stored" on your 1390.
.bmp files are stored on your PC and are used by POILoader when creating POI files for which you would like to see an "Icon" specifically for that POI.

Your manual does say (on page 24) that you can store JPEG and JPG files on the Nuvi but I think they will be used in your "Picture Viewer".

You get high marks fro reading your manual. Many people never do.

.

While it supports jpeg's for splash screens, I do believe it only supports bmp's for POI's.

Try it with bmp files.
