A list of hotels came up, and the GPS completely locked up. Had to pull the plug and reboot it. So this is what Garmin has been up to in R&D over the last 3 years since I got the 660? LOL
I remember when the 660 was brand-new, it locked up for seemingly no reason either. It's probably just where I live I guess.

There may well be other mitigating factors to this happenstance...

If I were to want to use an add what do you do, just show it off the Garmin??

I haven't had an issue with the adds either.
When I first got the unit, the adds would display a coupon (number) that would allow you a discount at that retailer. Now they just list the retailers that are nearest you. You can then click on one and go to it.

On the Garmin, when we get near a hotel an offer comes up, I click on it and it just takes me to the address of the hotel. There is no coupon number or way to apply a code to the hotel stay. Hotels didn't have a clue either when I asked about it.

I was wondering how it would work. (Just got a 3790LMT for Father's Day since the speaker on the trusty 660 crapped out!)
I imagine that attempting to cut the coupon out of the screen would void the warranty!

I have had no problems with ads on my 1690. I rarely see them anymore.
