"LPT" file? What is it for?

Just exploring the file structure on my new 1490T and in the GPX folder I found a number of gpx files, but one with the extension lpt has me confused.

Its name is a number and the only thing in the file (when I open it in Notepad) is another number.

What is this file and what is it used for?

Thanks

Just found this

I just found a new file on my unit in Garmin/GPX/ with the .lpt extension. It is dated June 13, 2011

The current.gpx file is also in there with the .lpt file.

Does anyone know what this is?

Edit:

I just found this on the web under .lpt
"Ethical Hacking

Ethical hacking is broadly defined as the methodology that ethical hackers adopt to discover existing vulnerabilities in information systems’ operating environments. Ethical hackers usually employ the same tools and techniques as criminal attackers, but they neither damage the target systems nor steal information, thereby maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the system. Their job is to evaluate the security of targets, provide updates regarding any discovered vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate mitigation procedures"

In a moment of stupidity when asked if Garmin could have permission to get information to help with their files I said yes. Could this file be how they link to my unit? If it is I will delete it. I am afraid to delete it not knowing what it is.

Can anyone help?
Thanks, Mary

LPT File

The LPT file type is primarily associated with 'LogPlot/LogView' See here: http://filext.com/file-extension/LPT

Thanks

The second link helped. I did save lat/long the other day for my home. That must be what it is.

Thanks so much!
