Latest Locus Update Supposedly Allows Google Maps Caching!

I had a friend email me that the latest update of both the FREE and paid versions of Locus allow you to cache as many Google Maps as you have storage space for! If true, this would be fantastic---has anyone else here tried to do this?

Darn!

I misread your thread title. I thought it meant we would be able to find geocaches using Google Maps. sad

No but

I haven't done it with Locus & Google maps, but have with OSM tiles so I don't see why it shouldn't. Give it a go and report back!

Google maps are just as inaccurate in my region as my Garmin 2012.10 PND map though, so I don't share your excitement.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

This is a great app!

I've been experimenting more with Locus, this really is a VERY powerful little app that has a ton of great features. The UI is nice, though the process for downloading maps is a little unclear unless you go to the Locus website and check out either their forums or their FAQ.

I downloaded some ARCVIEW/GIS maps of my area and they quality of the maps is superb! And you can't beat the price....free!

I'm going to experiment further to see if you can download and store Google maps, though it's being rumored that the next Google Maps update will allow for end users to store any and all Google maps on their device.
