West Marine Garmin POI File Does Not Load

I've tried loading the West Marine POI file for Garmin here a couple of times and it just won't go. All the other custom POI files will load fine, but not that one.

Can someone help me out or take a look at that file to figure out what's wrong?

I travel all over the state of Florida to fish and that POI will come in very handy for me in finding those tackle and boating supply stores.

Thanks in advance.

That Simple

That simple huh, wow. Thanks it's simple, but a lot of tedious work. LOL

The only way

Its the only way to get the file to work.
You should also contact the maintainer, but be warned you might not get a reply because the file has not been updated since 12-22-2009.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

West Marine quotes

I removed all the quotes and submitted the file to POI Factory.
I hope it helps you out.

Kudos to all at POI Factory - a great site!

Awesome Thanks

That's awesome thanks. Can you email me that new file? If so here's my email.

Re-submitting generally does not work.

Fixing someone else's file and re-submitting generally does not work. It adds confusion to whats up there.
The best way is to let the maintainer fix it.

@SnookMook. I sent you the file.

Poi Loader Version

What version of POI Loader are you using?
I can load the West Marine POIs ok using version 2.6.1

I think the problem is because of a previous version's improper handling of the escape quotes.

POI Loader 2.6.1 lists one of the changes as "Fixed issue with reading in CSV files that contain escape quotes".

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help everyone. I have a Mac and I'm using POI Loader version 2.2.1, that is the latest version.

The file that pwohlrab did works fine for me.

Trippin--Thanks for the help as well, but the one you did still had an error in it and it wouldn't load. pwohlrab might be able to tell you what he did that was different.

Thanks for the help on this to all of you. West Marine has close to a hundred locations in Florida and this will come in very handy as I travel around the state working on my saltwater fishing book.

I removed a space before the

I removed a space before the quote mark in the 3rd column of the file. I then removed the quote that was at the end in the 3rd column.
