As of now, I know there are more than 259,000 members here--and growing strong! I wonder how many are actual poi contributors?

I think there are around 33K POIs on the site, and we also know that many people have more than one POI to maintain. I would venture a guess of no higher than 25K.

amaze me with your knowledge of how to do all this. I am constantly flabbergasted by what many of you do, i.e. all that it takes to work all this out!

Most definitely there would be more contributors than maintainers, and that could be a bit more difficult to figure out. It would be time consuming, but if you were to look at every individual users' profile and count up the ones who have the POI Contributor symbol...

Thanks Miss Poi, Jon and others for the info. I was actually thinking about members with contributor badges. I was way off the mark--I was thinking about maybe in the neighborhood of around a hundred or two. Oh well, back to work and thanks again to everybody.

I enjoy having people submit corrections to my POIs, there's no way I could keep them accurate and up to date by myself!

It took me a long while to figure out what file I could put together and then how to do it. None of my files are at the top of the high download count list but what the heck. There are a few out there who are using my files.

Best thing is to find something you are interested in and have fun with it! Some POIs are easier to create/maintain than others depending on how easy the data is to obtain, and how fast things can change.

If the files are maintained by someone and they need some corrections then send the maintainer an email.
If the file has not been maintained in a while and you think it might be abandoned then still send an email to the maintainer and also maybe Miss Poi.
Some file maintainers do not have email/contact tab. You would then have to get in touch with Miss Poi.
