Duplicates On 255W

Checking something on my Favorites and found numerous duplicates, ones that I had downloaded and renamed, and ones I had long ago deleted.

This is the second time this has happened and it is a pain to delete them all over again.

What is the answer.

On the unit, do you have a Current.gpx, and temp.gpx file?

If you sent them to gps

If you sent them to gps using Google,Bing etc.You will need to connect gps to computer go to the Garmin Folder and click on gpx folder.You will see current.gpx.Any other files with the gpx extension delete them.Dis-connect gps from computer and manually delete them from gps.What happens is the temp gpx files reload back to current.gpx even though you delete just from the gps manually.

I followed those instructions and deleted a ton of entries I had downloaded from Google and some I had tried to create in MapSource. I left the Current.gpx and saved a copy of it on my harddrive. Things are good to go. I didn't know about the deleting the favorites through my data. A lot eaiser than having to delete them one at a time then rescroll back to the list again and a again.

PS-I couldn't find any files on the Garmin until I changed to "All Files" at the bottom right.

Also to add I had used

Also to add I had used MapSource to reveive the waypoint files only from my Gamin shich ended up being my favorites. I had then took a change and deleted all my favorites then sent the files back to
the Garmin and the favorites were there.

So I guess you can either copy the Current.gpx or use the receive for the waypoints.
