Just looking for justification in buying a new GPS was wanting to hear from users as to what new and cool feature would make the purchase of a new unit worth the $$$..or not!

Alternate firmware
Upgrading to alternative firmware can be risky as you can brick your gps if something went wrong, or when you dont follow the instructions. Many users tried to upgrade, but have their gps's bricked.
It is not that risky to update to alternate firmware if you know what you are doing. We have been many to do it. So far, I updated between 3 different regions: Chinese, Sg/Mal and US. The major rules are:
1- Know what you are doing!!!
2- Use a firmware that is compatible with your model
3- Always use the boot.bin from your original firmware.
4- Change the HWID of the alternate firmware to the one of your current firmware.
In exchange, I got the MP3 Media Player, 3D Building View, ... It was fun. I can understand why selfruler wants to try it. I just do not know if it is possible on his 255.

upgraded to the 2360lmt from my old garmin 550, I am pleased with the new unit except the glare from the sun make the unit hard to read. Have not used the multi-stop route planning.
