How to use Red Light & Speed Camera POI's in Garmin 265T

I'm a bit confused about the Red Light & Speed Camera POI's
I downloaded here. I know how to install them on my Garmin but the usage is a bit vague. If I don't know were a Red light or Speed Camera is located how do I know which to use.

Pleas bare with me as this is my first GPS and don't know how POI's would work as I travel to various places.

You want both

Redlight cameras and speed cameras are different beasts so if you wish to have alerts for both, you'll want to install both (at the same time) with POI Loader. If you want visual icons or wav audio alerts download and install them as well, remembering to rename them to be identical to the POI file and to install sox.exe as well. The FAQs here should offer some help as well as these forums. Have fun and welcome to The Factory! Note that your nuvi can not play mp3 audio so you need wav files with sox-exe.

You will want to go to Extras and turn on your custom POIs.

Once you install the Red Light Camera and Speed Camera POI's, your 265 will automatically use them and warn you when you approach one of the points listed in the POI file.

Note, oddly, Garmin puts these in the Extras folder (hence Craig's mention of that folder) and not in the Points of Interest folder. The Garmin POI folder is reserved for their built in POIs, not those we can add from web sites like this one.
