Commercial Advertisements through GPS?

I got a new 1490TLM at Christmas and today I got an "offer" or a commercial ad on my GPS as I was driving. It was annoying. What is this thing and how do I block them?

Ads

That is the price we have to pay for free traffic. The ads usually show when stopped or driving slow.So small I barely notice them.Your manual http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/3130_OwnersManual.pdf page 37 covers the ads.

Unplug the traffic receiver if you don't want the ads.

Or buy a lifetime NAVTEQ subscription from Garmin for $49.99 (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=268&pID=36804) to turn the ads off.

Traffic

If the Garmin has the traffic enabled, does it take traffic delays into account while calculating the possible route?
