Magellan information

Does anybody have information on the Magellan Roadmate 2000. Target has them on sale for under $200 and was thinking about using it as a gift. I have no experience with Magellan though.

Magellan Maestro 4250, T-Mobile G1 with Google Maps, iPaq with TomTom, and a Tapwave Zodiac with TomTom and Mapopolis

Magellan

Thanks, gives me something to go off. I have a TT700 and really like the traffic feature. See that the 2000T only comes with that and not the 2000.

Clarification

Just for clarity's sake, the 2200T has the traffic feature as an option that you have to add on. Basically it's a special craddle you buy. And i'm not overwhelmed with the covered cities either.

Magellan models ...

I was looking into the Magellan 4040/4050 due to the price and size of the screen but the reviews trash it terribly. Reviewer actually said the worst Garmin and the worst TomTom model would have been better than the new Magellan models. It wasn't just one review either. Several backed up this reviewer's statement. Said that routes are too slow. The TTS is so garbled that is doesn't sound English. When you are making turns and get to your next turn, the Magellan is just telling you about the turn you did 5 minutes ago..lol Hasn't even caught up to the turn you just did. The fact that another reviewer highly recommended Garmin made me feel good to know I selected a good brand the first time around.
