Which Garmin GPS Units Accept Mapsource Route Downloads?

I like to build my own routes in Mapsource, then download them into my Garmin 850. Do later model Garmin units accept and store downloaded routes from Mapsource? Looking at lists of features given on various Garmin units at the Garmin website don't state that the new models allow that. Thanks for your input.

1490

Mine allows the storage of 10 routes.
Edit: I can load unlimited amount of routes on the SD card, but I can only load 10 at a time into the unit.

i think

I think the only unit that isn't accepting downloads from Mapsource is the 3790. If I remember, Motorcycle MaMa stated it was because it uses a different internal file structure. She also stated Garmin is 'working on a fix.'

I just bought a 1490 but haven't received it yet. I downloaded the manual but cannot find anywhere in the manual that says the 1490 can import routes and/or how to ????????

Appreciate info on how to find ! The old mind ain't what it used to be !

Here it is briefly. Create a route in Mapsource. With your 1490 hooked up to your PC, click on TRANSFER at the top of the Mapsource screen. Click SEND TO DEVICE. When the device, (Nuvi 1490) appears, make sure ROUTES is checked. Then click SEND.
Disconnect your unit. Then on your Nuvi, TOOLS>MY DATA>IMPORT ROUTES.
There you go. Again, you can check the FAQ or search for threads.
Good Luck. I learned how to do this very recently.

Other Limitations

I believe Nuvi's have other limitations as well:

A limit of 50 way points (not to be confused with via points).

A limit of 200 via points.
