Nuvi 855 POI's

Im new to this and have a question. I have a nuvi 855 and am loading the poi's into an SD card in the Garmin. Will the nuvi 855 see this or do I have to load the poi files into the unit's storage?

Yes, if you go to the main menu select where to then select poi, this is where you will find your Poi's on the sd card.

Your added POI's should be
Your added POI's should be located in the category called "Extras", then select custom poi's and you should see them there

Also note that for the nuvi 8x5 series, sometimes the new POIs don't appear until after the GPS is rebooted by removing, then reinstalling the battery after POI Loader-ing the new POI data.

While popping the battery will always do a reboot, it can be difficult while still in the cradle. In that case, hold the power switch in the left most (off) position for about 10 to 15 seconds. This also forces a reboot.
