Lost POI file on Nuvi 660

When you run poiloader.Do you get message so many pois loaded?If yes you touch where to,extras and touch custom pois last?

Yes, message says"Congratulations, you have successfully installed 38480 Points of Interest on your device". I don't have option on my PoiLoader to select anything other than "finish".

And on the GPS unit when you Touch "Extras" and then touch "Custom POIs", there is nothing there?

When you run POI loader double check that the correct device is selected. It could be installing to one of the drives on your computer.

If that is OK then try selecting the GPS receiver and then select remove all custom POI's and run it and then go back and do the install to the GPS receiver.

Correct. Nothing was there when I entered Extra, except the demo.

Thanks. I did check for the correct device. I then removed all past custom POI's and reinstalled. When I tried to reinstall without removing past custom POI's the message would say "successfully installed (then the number would be double) as if it installed the new one in addition to the old POI's.

Connect your gps to computer and go to the Garmin drive.Click Garmin folder then Poi folder.You should see poi.gpi file.Delete it.If you have a Mac computer delete the trash bin before you dis-connect Gps from computer.Reboot GPS and re-run poiloader to install the custom pois.Now make sure you touch where to,extras and touch custom poi tab last.

Edit.Make sure when you run Poiloader.

1.When you see screen find device make sure you select the proper one. If using SD card use the pull down window .The arrow located across from device and selects the SD card.
2.Click next and put mark in Install new custom Poi’s onto your device
