google 'my maps'

Hi
I have a bunch of things saved into google my maps. they are in 3 groups. each group has numerous entries, like maybe a hundred. I can download the group to google earth and click on each entry to view properties. but when I try to create the .kml file in google earth it opens in POIEdit as an empty file.

So basically, I can click on the group name, such as "favorite restaurants" and save as .kml, which it does, but none of my restaurants are listed. but they are each listed in google earth under that group name.
so how do I get the group to go to kml or is there a non-tedious way to get the lat/long from each restaurant entry either in google maps or earth?

thanks

Files

This is how I do files in Google Earth.Since you have the kml file start with number 6. (link no longer available)

Edit. You can also do this with the files you now have with Google Maps.

8. Once all your locations are entered go to link located on right near top on Google Maps and click on it. Under paste link in email or im you will see the highlighted link right click mouse and save it.
9.Now go to site http://www.takitwithme.com/ and paste in the url you copied where it says paste in your Google my maps url. Now click load my map.
10.You will have a choice to upload to garmin gps (will go to favorites) or download GPX. Select download GPX and save it in the correct folder or subfolder. If you want to convert GPX to CSV continue with step 11.
11.Download http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor (only works for windows now) and load the gpx file to it. You now will be able to review the file and make the necessary changes or add additional information such as comments; alerts and etc .You can save the file as a csv or gpx file. You will lose the additional information if you save as a csv file.

Just curious which method did you use?

I use to work with Google Maps a lot to make custom pois but started using Google Earth later on.They both will do the job but now prefer Google Earth to make custom pois.Bing maps is good second choice.

I already had the places

I already had the places saved on google maps, so I had to get them down to earth, and then the gps.
I'm trying to make a new POI list, and am using earth to make a kml

Help

When using your procedure, is your only option to parse the results 10 at a time or is there a setting somewhere I'm not aware of. Thanks

Are you saying you are

Are you saying you are limited to 10 at a time in Google Earth?

There has to be a quicker way...

The search results are only displayed 10 at a time, so I either have to save every 10 results into My Places, then go to Page 2 and save the next 10 results...I was wondering if there was a way to save all results from a query. I'm working on an ice skating POI and there are about 300-400 skating rinks in the U.S. and I'm having to save the results 10 at a time. Just wondering if there was a quicker way.

Not that I am aware of.Just

Not that I am aware of.Just keep adding to My Places and save the complete list.A lot faster then typing all the info out.
