1390LMT installation error while trying to update to 2011.3

Just got a new 1390LMT. While trying to install 2011.3, when I press continue after: "Ready to update your maps." I get the following error: "An unexpected error has occurred and the program must close. If you continue to experience this, please contact customer support." This happens after communicating with the server.

Also, every time I turn it on, it asks me to select a locale, select a language, and agree to the EULA's.

Anybody else having these issues?

Sounds to me what happens when..................

Sounds to me what happens when the unit has never been allowed to complete the satellite acquisition in your actual location. Let it find the sats than take it for a trial run for a few miles and then try again.

I've read of others with installing issues. I don't know if this'll fix things for you, but you do need to meet what follows for a successful update (assuming you're using a Windows PC):

First, you need to be logged into the computer with Administrator rights.

Second and third, you need a good MS Installer and updated, noncorrupt MS .NET Framework. See this link for more info:

I hope it helps. As much as Garmin's update needs these items, the Garmin update process apparently doesn't check to see that your computer meets its needs before starting the installation.

Thank you

I ended up using a different computer and had no issues. Thanks for your help.
