has anyone used this feature with their garmins? I am new to gps/garmin usage and would love this feature -
also, there are audio files that can be downloaded from places like Itunes - are those compatible? just a curious new user....
Thanks for the help.

As far as audio files...
As far as audio files, I believe mp3 files are the only audio files that will play through the Garmin models. I don't think AAC files from iTunes are compatible.

Nugs:
My Garmin Nuvi 680 will only play audio files in the MP3 format. Most audio CD's can be saved in the MP3 format and then loaded on your Garmin.
There are also software programs availabel (use google to find them) that will allow you to convert from one format to another. I found one on google that would allow you to save any audio file as any other type file. It was one of those deals where you can use the software free for 15 days then had to buy it if you liked it. It worked flawlessly for me and I think I may purchase it. As I recall it was pretty inexpensive (under $30.00 USD). I am out of town now or I would give you the link but don't have the info on the laptop. Sorry.

Officer I'm sorry I was going the wrong way on that one-way street but my GPS told me to turn left ... Oh, I'm still getting a ticket, okay then the GPS will see ya in court!

The manual for the nuvi 350 says AA Audio book files are supported, but iTunes are not.
Mine came with 2 free books downloadable from:
