Garmin c550 "Where 2" on faceplate?

One of my friends has a Garmin c550 that looks just like all the other ones, except it says "Where 2" at the botom right of the front bezel (the removable one). Is this a special edition of the unit? Does anyone know?

That is interesting

I have never seen that.

"Where2" is the way the car rental outfits are now trying to pick up an extra $9.95/day. And you're right - they look like 550s.

That's why this site and ppl are awesome...

I saw when mrbojanglez50's post populated and I was sure anxious to see the respone and I swear that what you don't know on this site, someone else surely will. DeepSnap answered that for all curious minds.

Yeah, Enterprise, the rental car company that we use at work, uses the c340.

Avis has Where 2

The Avis Car Rental company used to operate a GPS system using Sprint / Nextel technology via a hand held phone.

In recent months they have switched to using a GPS System from Garmin that they have branded Where 2.
