Strange "Catagories" created in Favorites on my 1490T

I'm having a strange problem with my 1490T and I'm stumped as to the cause.

When I access my Favorites, I see the various catagoies I've created along with “All Favorites”, but the unit generates its own catagories.

Here is the current set.

Obviously four of these catagoies are date/time stamps.

Most contain a single POI, but from different catagories, Food, Friends, Photo locations, etc.
One contains two. When I note these catagories have reappeared, I dutifully removed them but when they appear they may have different names, but they always contain the same Favorite locations.

It seems to me that they appear after I save my current location by tapping on the screen. I've also noted these catagort's appearance after I send a location to my unit from Google Maps, but this occurance is sporadic, not every single time.

Searching through my Current.gpx file, I find the time stamps are associated with track logs while the others come up multiple times as course entries, as an example < gpxtpx:course >173.65< /gpxtpx:course >.

Of course when I delete my tracklog, the only instance of any of these entries is as one of these false catagoies.

After manually removing the false catagories I then look at the entries for that are affected by this strange behavior and I do not see anything that stands out that would cause them to attract this random catagoy generation.

Is anyone else seeing this on their unit?
I guess one solution is to save out my Current.gpx file more often to retain my tracklogs, but this doesn't resolve the problem when I need to save my current location as a POI...
