The City of Cincinnati voted last night to ban texting while driving. They also voted to ban the imputting of any type of information into a GPS while the vehicle is moving. This new law will take effect on Oct. 10, 2010.
time is comming
when you will be a passenger while your car drives by computer much like will smith in the movie irobot.
The time may be coming as you say...
...but for now one can devote 100% of attention to the road, or something less than 100% due to dividing it to cell phone, texting, GPS fiddling, and all manner of other folderol we clutter our driving existence with. Given the 35,000 killed and 2 million maimed every year on the roads in this country, which is the safer course to take - fiddle, or devote 100% of your attention to driving?
