How many people use Smartphone GPS?

I've noticed that my smartphone's GPS is at least as accurate as a couple of my dedicated GPS units. I wonder how many other folks use their smartphones for GPS.

HTC Incredible As Well

The free navigation using Google Maps is nice and great in a pinch. Some of the problems is that the navigation is not as easy to use on the phone as my Nuvi. For Instance I travel a lot and rent cars. It is very easy for me to mark the rental lot with my Nuvi so that I can return to it later. Not so easy with my phone since I must find an address to input.

Also the navigation algorithm is not as good in the Phone as the Nuvi. I started both of them when I left work to see the route they would take me home. The Incredible took me 5 minutes out of the way to get to my home while the garmin took me straight there. Great if I do not have my garmin, but not as reliable if I have the garmin.

Some of the things that are better on the phone than the Garmin is the overlays that you can place on the map. For instance you can place the Satellite view, traffic views, and/or weather views. You can use fuzzy logic on the phone to find locations. For instance I can say stuff like "Navigate to the King Tut Exhibit in Denver" (btw... that is exactly what I used while visiting Denver). The phone took me right there. The Nuvi would have required an address.
