Traffic Cameras Worldwide Go Haywire

Speed cameras and red light cameras in the US and Australia accused innocent motorists of wrongdoing.

Traffic cameraSpeed cameras in California, Florida and Australia are not living up to their image of providing infallible evidence of traffic crimes. To the contrary, officials must find clever excuses to cover for the mistakes that are uncovered with increasing frequency.

In Hallandale, Florida, the private firm American Traffic Solutions mailed a $125 ticket to Phil Kodroff accusing his car of "running a red light" at the intersection of Federal Highway and Hallandale Beach Boulevard on May 22. The Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel reported that Kodroff's vehicle committed this crime at the speed of 0 MPH.

To explain the lack of speed noted on Kodroff's ticket,

This article is fairly typical of "thenewspaper.com" whose purpose seems to be to inflame passions against cameras. It cites 4 instances (and then makes the 'worldwide" claim.

What are we to make of it?

By the way, if enough people boycott BP, then BP might not be able to reimburse all of the people in the gulf area whose lives have been devastated by the oil spill. Personally, I hope they make enough money to do all the necessary reimbursement for damages to the gulf and then have enough left to be assessed a hefty fine for safety violations 9the size of which fine I have heard to be in the neighborhood of 24 billion)

just though I would toss the artical out there!

Bp is so diversified I wouldn't worry about them, just don't fall for their, they don't own the gas stations independents do crap.
If you don't buy BP gas it hit's the stock holders in their wallets. You don't think the dealers get the gas from Sunoco do you. You don't think BP is drilling for crude to make baby oil out of it do you?

If you want to support the dealers buy, milk bread, soda, candy, sundries or whatever so they can pay the rent. Then go across the street and buy your gas from someone else, the profit is in the products not the gas BP screws them too, and doesn't give them much profit to work with starting off.

May be this will bring it into focus:

April 27 (Bloomberg) -- BP Plc, the energy company battling a 1,000-barrel-a-day leak in the Gulf of Mexico, said profit more than doubled in the first quarter on higher oil prices.

Net income jumped to $6.08 billion, or 32 cents a share, from $2.56 billion, or 14 cents, a year earlier, London-based BP said today in a statement. Excluding gains or losses from holding inventories and one-time items, earnings beat analyst estimates.

So don't worry about BP worry about what they did to the Gulf of Mexico, and Boycott the SOB's
