I downloaded schools for my area southeast, converted it to TourGuide with sound alert(voice) distance set at 700 feet. Every thing worked great except that I was getting alerts every few miles because of (historical) schools. You might see a small bulding that at the turn of the century had been a school. What I wanted was actual schools where children might be present.
Since the files were in .csv format I took some VB code and modified it slightly so it would search column "C" for the string "(historical)" and delete the entire row. This also works great. That's the good news. The bad news is that there are about 20,000 rows containing the string (historical) and it took about 3 or 4 min. to complete on my computer (your milage may vary).
I also added 3 schools in my district. I had planed on uploading this new file but noticed that this site does not accept updates to school zone files.
Can I at least upload the VB code as a notepad.txt? If so how?
