1490T Speed Indicator Frozen at 0 While Following Route

I've noticed that if I have my 1490T use a multi-point route that I've pre-programmed into the device, the speed indicator on the lower right hand side of the screen is initially frozen at zero. I've also caught it frozen at a fixed non-zero speed. I've never seen this happen in the more common single-destination routing mode.

I haven't tried experimenting yet to see if this always works, but if I hit the back button to the main screen, then hit the view map button again, then the speed is unfrozen. If I don't do this, and just leave it alone, I think after it gets past the 1st or 2nd waypoint, then it unfreezes on its own. Has anyone else seen this strange behavior?

never seen it...

Never seen it but a hard reset is known to do wonders for odd quirks and strange behavior on units.

Give it a try and see if it helps.

Let me try a hard reset

Thanks for the tip and the direct link to the hard reset procedure. I'll program in a short route for my trip home today, and see if I observe the strange behavior. I'll save my data tonight and do a hard reset, then try a route again tomorrow. I'll report back here what the results are.

Hard Reset Did Not Cure The Problem

I did a hard reset, and the stuck speed problem when following a route did not go away. However, I've confirmed that hitting the back button then the View Map button makes the speedometer work again every time, so that's the easy workaround I'll use.

I just loaded the latest firmware update tonight, SW 4.4, and check again tomorrow morning if it changed anything.

Latest Firmware Update Did Not Fix it Either

1490T FW 4.4 didn't fix the problem either.
