Nuvi 1690 POI question and CIAO! issue

Just purchased a new 1690 and found it only holes 999 POI in "favorites". Can I load all POIs on a microSD chip and use it that way.
Also when I try to "invite" my daughter to follow our trip it does not recognize the phone number or her email address. It says "the friend was not invited. verify the phone number (or email address)and try again". Does she have to be a member of gypsii network and own a garmin or what. Just Don't works I guess.

Custom POIs and Favorites are two different things.
They are stored in two different places and one does not affect the other.
The number of Custom POIs that the unit can store is limited only by the amount of space available on the unit.
Typically, you can get around 15,000 - 18,000 Custom POIs per megabyte of space.
I would imagine that the newer unit like that has plenty of space on the unit for Custom POIs. Check the free space with the unit connected to a computer.
However, if you want to, you can also store the Custom POIs on the microSD card. Favorites/Waypoints cannot be stored on the card. And there is no way to increase the number of Favorites that can be stored. It's coded in the device firmware and only a firmware change can change it.
