Software update for Nuvi 765T

You would be better off to use webupdater so you can have the option to download or not.A lot of the members including myself has had problems with Dashboard.

As charlesd45 suggested, use WebUpdater and not myDashboard when checking for updates. To find out why, see this:

Thank you for the suggestion. I loaded WebUpdater and sorry to be ignorant but, why would myDashboard state there's an update and the Webupdater state that my Garmin already has the latest software version?
Also, the WebUpdater does show updates to the Time Zone Map and some of the voices.
Does myDashboard consider these software updates while WebUpdater does not?

Thanks. I usually update from Dashboard and have had no problems. I will use webupdater from now.

According to my Webupdater it is just an update to the Time Zone Map. The buggy Firmware remains status quo.

*All* updates are considered updates no matter which update process you use.

If WebUpdater states that you already have the latest software version, the firmware (or "software version" in Garmin-speak) is what is being referred to. This is *always* checked first. It then allows you proceed to check for "additional updates" that may be available.

The main difference between WebUpdater & myDashboard is that WebUpdater notifies you of *all* of the updates that are available and gives you the option to install/not install them. myDashboard only tells you an update is available but never what it is...a firmware update, voice update, help file update...nothing.

I just logged onto my dashboard and there is no software update listed. Since I already have 3.90, I guess they haven't fixed the typing glitch yet.

And the traffic receiver glitch. And the crashing problems. etc, etc.

Yeah, I noticed that update as well, but I tend to stick to the webupdater rather than the dashboard. Froze my XP machine once when updating.
