I will certainly cheer on the US team, but I don't expect them to make it to the quarter finals.

I watched Mexico vs South Africa today on GalaVision. Good game. My Spanish is very rusty though. The announcers go ooooh with every scoring chance.

We might not win it all, but it's worth a shot!

I'm way more into Hockey. I enjoyed watching the stanley cup, although my fav team lost last week. Never really got into soccer.

I've recently began watching soccer matches and, while I don't know much about the teams or their resepctive players, I truly appreciate the pace of the game. Especially when compared to the slow, drawn-out "action" of baseball and football.

DOH!

I'd like to see an African team making it to at least semi-finals. Ivory Coast or South Africa, one of them should be good enough to make it so far. Anyway, so far I'm very satisfied with overall quality. There are no weak teams anymore and every game is pretty much very competitive.

The only good thing about soccer is that you never really need to wonder what the score is. It's likely to be zero to zero.

Ever wonder how USA would do if they played for 90 minutes? (Like last year when we beat Spain 2-0 in the Confederations Cup). Oh well, we still have a chance to advance.

I didn't see all the games, but Germany looked the strongest of the teams I saw in the first round.

But then they didn't play very well in their second game against Ghana and looked anything but dominant.

Well, you can have one weak loss at the right time and still win it all. You just can't have a second.

I would rather watch grass grow.

So I vote to lease (not give - they're stinking rich enough to pay for the sets) some units to the French team, to help them find their way back here (in France).

On South African turf, they're useless - apart from the job they give to newspapers and other medias. And I dunno if the Bloemfontain field is thoroughly defined by Navteq. Like, show them where their teammates are, and where the South African goalie is located!!!

What a nerve-wracking bunch of matches these have been. The lads finished top of the group despite the FIFA officials attempts to send them home early. Great job!

What an exciting game yesterday with the US 91-minute goal. Now on to Ghana on Saturday.

And now both the champions (Italty) and the runner-up (France) from the last World Cup fail to make it out of the opening stage. My bracket is toast, but I don't care.
