Connect your nuvi to the computer with a USB cable. When done, your nuvi should appear as a Device with external storage in My Computer, if you're a PC/Windows user. If a Mac user, try asking again on POI Factory's Mac Topics forum.

First off, if you haven't backed up your nuvi to your computer, do that first. That'll give you a way to restore one or more files to your nuvi should you ever need to.

The vehicle you have downloaded onto your computer is a .srf file, right? Just copy the downloaded .srf file from your computer to your nuvi in the nuvi's /Garmin/Vehicle directory (which is where your nuvi's other .srf files are, right?)

Craig, thanks for correcting the shot on that one ! I should have re-read my post, but it'd been a long and hard day here in Southern France...

I've been using a custom srf file representing my yellow Mini Cooper for the past year. I just updated my map and Garmin Software on my Nuvi 755T. Afterwards, I can only access the srf icons supplied on the Garmin site. I can see the Mini srf file in my Vehicle file on my Garmin GPS, but when I attempt to select it with my Garmin, it isn't appearing. I even tried taking out all the srf files except for the Mini, but it still didn't appear. I also tried other srf files that I could access before, but they don't appear on the Garmin either.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Reload it again. It may have corrupted.

Curiosity question. Why did Garmin put a halo around the (smaller) car icon in the 2x5 series, and is it possible to replace the 2x5 icon with a car icon from an older unit?

Thanks, Juggernaut, for the suggestion. I downloaded another file and replaced the old file. Apparently, it had been corrupted. The srf file shows up now on my Garmin.

It's easier to see on the 'night' screen.
