My dc (Car) power cord got cut in half (don't ask) and I found it is a 9 conductor plus shield. There are, however, 2 reds and 2 browns. How do I know which red goes with which, and which brown goes with which or doesn't it matter? My guess is it doesn't matter but would like to get some verification.
Thanks
Replace it.
Sorry, I don't know the answer, but I don't think I would bother repairing it and risk damaging the nuvi. You can get a replacement on e-bay for under $7 including shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150445625...

Hi, Actually I already replaced it from Garmin before my wife told me about Amazon. Huge difference in price. I just wanted to splice this back together for an emergency spare. Both reds ring out to +12vdc and the browns ring out to -12vdc. I was wondering if there were any "gotcha's"
Dapazman
depending on the gauge

Doubling the conductors might be a possible answer. It would depend on the thickness (gauge) of the conductors to handle the current requirements.
