POI Loader -> Mapquest. Where's the file?

I usually don't use Mapquest other than to load Topo maps on my Nuvi 260.
Today I decided to make a backup of my favorites using MQ.

After loading my latest custom POIs to the unit, I decided to see what they would look like on MQ, so I ran POI Loader again, but choosing the Mapquest option instead of my normal Custom Folder.
After I was finished, nothing. I couldn't find the file and of course, if the file I specified was created, it did not show up in MQ.

I didn't see anything in the help file, and a search here didn't reveal an answer to where this file ends up, or how do I load it into MQ?

Thanks

.

Presumably, you mean MapSource and not MapQuest.

If so, the problem isn't you.

It would seem that the POI Loader developers and the MapSource developers eat different M&Ms.

Because, while POI Loader has that option, MapSource cannot read the POI.GPI that results from running POI Loader. (Or any .GPI file for that matter.)

If your custom poi files are

If your custom poi files are gpx, you can open them in Mapsource (you can also drag and drop gpx file into Mapsource). Mapsource can also save a gpx file (if you modified gpx for some reason or were creating your own poi files from Mapsource waypoints).

If custom poi files are csv, then you will have to convert to gpx to view / use in Mapsource.

New version of POI Loader

You are using an outdated version of POI Loader. The current version does not have an option for MapSource (and never had one for Mapquest.)

Yes, Mapsource, not Mapquest

My mistake there. Thanks for that correction.

And thanks for the info that while the older version of POI Loader that I use has a radio button for a Map SOURCE output, it apparently does nothing other than consume cpu cycles.

You can use Extra Poi Editor and load custom poi files to it and open in Mapsource and Google Earth.
