Convert Magellan to Garmin Custom POI File

I own a magellan roadmate 800 that died on me. I made a backup of my addresses and favorites to an sd card. Some of the locations are my favorite mushroom hunting spots and I would love to somehow import those into my new garmin 1350T. Is there a way to convert the magellan backup file to allow it to import into garmin? If so how?

followup

The backup file type is called tripplan1.dat from the magellan.
Does anyone know where i can download the magellan poi file editor?

Probably won't help

Since that .dat file is NOT a POI list, the editor probably won't help you.

Right click on the .dat file and open it with notepad and see what it looks like. It may be simple text that you could manually convert to .csv format.

I think that looking for an automated solution is probably a waste of time.

try GPS babel

try GPS babel http://www.gpsbabel.org/index.html you can convert betwen just about eny GPS format. It is the best that I have seen.

Try a text editor

ka1167 is right. Try a text editor (Notepad or similar). I can open almost every .dat file from my Magellan using Notepad. Problem is that you'll have names and addresses but not coordinates and they are, I get feeling, more important to you.

use EPE to convert MGLN files to GPX or CSV

Extra_POI_Editor can do this. You can find it here:
