Whereas I'm not comfortable enough with coexisting with the visual distraction a GPS would have on a motorcycle, (1993 Goldwing SE), I could consider it for audible directions, via helmet intercom system.... Goldwing's have integrated audio, that will mute the radio on voice...
Has anyone built an interface for integrating audio into a 1500 Goldwing Intercom, and wish to share the schematic?
Input Jack?
Does the audio have ab input jack? If so it would speak directions thru the audio system. In my car, I use the GPS to play MP3s. The unit suspends playback and speaks directions. The music then resumes.

Goldwing
I use a Garmin 350 on my 1992 Goldwing. The sound output of the Garmin goes into the tape player thru a cheap adapter. The music comes out the speakers & the helmet audio when plugged in.
Works great. If you ride in rain, however, enclose the Garmin in a baggie!
Good riding.

Or pay the bigger bucks for a Zumo model. Designed with motorcycles in mind, waterproof, glove friendly, bluetooth capable to an equipped helmet.
